White Oak short bow

46" white oak 50Lbs. at 20". Upper limb has a lot of propeller twist. Both limbs have checking cracks. A few hundred arrows shot and 2" of string follow. Its nothing fancy, but fun to shoot.

Thanks folks, It was fun trying a new wood and new style for me. The other half of this log is much cleaner without nots and checks, still has twist though, and its around 60" long.
Bowandarrow, the finish was a result of not being thorough scraping the cambium, and then darking the wood with powderd fir charcoal mixed with fat. When I rubbed it in the charcoal highlighted the bumps and edges. Kind of an accident. :) I just wnated to darken it for deer hunting.
