Short Japanese yew

I have a piece I've been working on, had to take some kinks out again and again, reflex tips and deflexed handle. Gonna try and use a old sinew backing. Maybe two. It'd be about 5 layers together. Hide glued on. ( I'm going for it so don't talk me out of it >:D). I deflexed it today and would like to reflex the tips more. Then gonna sinew. Going for somewhat of an angle bow. I'll try and remember pics tonight. I'm gonna reflex the tips tonight and sinew this weekend probly.

Bow is 51" long.

How did you remove the sinew backings? I have a piece of juniper I sinew backed but I hinged it real bad and I'd love to reuse the sinew.

I just bent it backwards till the bow broke and ripped it off lol

Simson had a bow he did that to on here and said he was very impressed with the outcome of the pre made sinew backing lol.

Bruce, be sure the sinew sheet conforms to the new back completely. You may want to rehydrate it first so it is flexible.
 Ryan, I removed the sinew from a yew paddle bow that broke at the handle. I soaked the bow pieces in warm water and once the hide glue softened the sinew lifted right off. I reused the sinew but not in sheet form. I separated it and laid it out to dry. Once it was dry I stored it in a big ziploc then reused some of it on o0ther bows and save some for arrow wraps. It was back sinew.

Yeah I'm gonna soak them for a day probly pat. Also gonna wrap the pat m way to get it nice and tight. Should be neat if it works out

Also have my two sinew backing re hydrating. Had to look for one. Apparently a mouse drug it off the shelf. Lol. Must not of liked the flavor.
