Here a few pics of a yew bow I've been working on. Several of ya'll answered questions for me, so just wanted to say thanks.

Specs. ... 53#@26", 60" ntn. I had to use the heat gun 8-10 times. I wanted to get a little more reflex but it just seemed like I was putting to much stress on the wood so once I got it somewhat even I stopped . I had the tips about an 11/2 in behind the handle and It ended up about even.It shoots well with just a little thud on release.
The finish is crisco/bees wax mix that I had read about on here. I've used bees wax before but never mixed it with anything.

The plan is keep shooting it and if it keeps shooting like it is now. Put meat in freezer about October. Time will tell.

I realize that is not the greatest full draw pic but any and all critique on the tiller is welcomed.

Appreciate the kind words. This is the only yew I have messed with. So some of y'all answered questions and offered suggestions that helped get it completed. It does seem it shoot a little harder than most of my other bows but that may be because of the design rather than the yew. Heck it may just be in my head. Each bow I make has one purpose from the start.. To KILL something.  Even if it's only time.☺☺☺
If it makes meat this fall I will be sure to post pics.

A funny thing happened when I was working on tiller. At about 20 inches of draw I knew the limbs were a little off on the timing. My 26 year old son, which usually don't show much interest in bow building, was looking at it and watched me short draw said. "Top limb is bending after the bottom limb is already bending. You need to take more wood off the top limb."  He was right. Just goes to show they listen to and pick up on things when we think their not listening.
