Hackberry with Grumley Bushbow style nocks
« on: August 09, 2015, 02:18:52 pm »
I just finished this bow after it's been standing in the corner for a few months too many. This is my first of this style and I'm really impressed so far; The bow hits hard, is quiet, and dead in the hand. I'd like to try an identical one in osage next time as the hackberry is pretty thick for the weight.

64" ntn
1 5/8" wide at the handle
44# at 28"
took around 1 to 1 1/2" set but it's been humid the past week.

Looks like a beautifully crafted bow.  Spot on tiller too.  Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Those nocks are sumpin else!
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857
