A trip to the museum.
« on: August 01, 2015, 06:30:08 pm »
So today is the day the local knappers usually meet. We meet up at a museum in a smaller town just south of me. I have never walked through, until today. I'll for sure go back through! Funny how items make you think of people. The drills and awls made me think of Zuma. The pipes made me think of Gundoc. Here are some photos from the native American area.

Nice collection.  That deer skull is cool.  That's called a cactus buck.  I think its from when a buck has a testicle injury and it doesn't produce testosterone.  They don't shed their velvet and the antlers continue to grow all the bumps.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

I could have stayed in there all day! The mineral room was about 5000 square feet. Glass cases 7 feet tall. They also have a mining room, a room of various mounted birds, including an albino red tailed hawk. And then the military room. All of this stuff is a private collection. What a guy to let it be seen!
