What now?
« on: July 15, 2015, 01:03:05 am »
So I glued up something, the boo and ipe slipped a little so I had a little more trimming to do. So one side of the boo is slightly bigger. And what should this look like when it's Tillered lol?  O:) I gotta knock the rust off. I gotta measure it since I cleaned it up, it's 60" long ATM. Boo, ipe, pacific yew belly. Can I trap the boo? And how much? It also has a quilted maple power lam.

What now? Send it to me! Lol. Lebhuntfish has a trade bow similar profile. I will see if I can get him to post on here to show his full draw.

So I got it bending, I'm thinking I have to get the tips coming around now, it's pulled to about 11". Super low brace

Be careful of the inner limbs. The leverage of the limbs puts most of the stress there. Get the rest of the limbs bending well then work back towards the fades.

The outer 1/3 of the left limb is stiff and the outer 2/3 of the right is stiff.

You are bending a bit much about 6" above the handle. That is where the leverage is the strongest. That's why I suggest working the inner limbs last after the outer limb is bending well.  R/D bows can be difficult to tiller. You have to get most of the reflex out early on during the draw then work on the inner sections.
