steaming question

After steaming and recurving or reflexing a piece how long do you leave it in your jig?  How about osage specifically.

I leave heat treated or manipulated wood on the form over night. I want to be sure it is completely cooled, inside or out. I'd hate to pull out what I just put in by stressing it too soon.

I failed recently.
I steamed about 4 inches of reflex into some osage and after it was cool to the touch( about 40 minutes or so) I took it out and ended up with only 2 inches of reflex. :-\

It's often prudent to leave it overnight... it's too tempting to fiddle with stuff too early... glue ups or heat bending.
Mind, nearly all bending needs an allowance for spring back.
