Looks familiar, Hans. My 1st and only bow was elm and that was years ago. Tough stuff and evidently good wood for a beginner. Mine is almost 30 years old and will still shoot but is lifting some edge grain so it stays on the wall. It only started lifting grain after a friend overdrew it for several shots. I may have a stave left, out in the shed.

Yours is much better looking than mine and will probably survive good friends shooting it. Great job!
