Helps to have a good net man
« on: July 06, 2015, 11:10:23 am »
Me and Drew (Black Coyote) were out harassing bass on dads lake last Wednesday. We have been out there twice with our fly rods this summer and just nailed the bass both times. 20-25 fish nights per guy aren't uncommon. Fish this big are available, but not as common. Its the biggest I've ever caught. It was a pretty good battle for a spawned out-stressed out chick, but my net man handled it with ease. I got her back in the water quick and let her re-coop for a bit. Us nordeners don't see bass this size often, too cold up here eh'!

I didn't weight or measure here. So speculate away fella's.

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Nice one, Pearlie. I bet it was fun on a fly rod.

Thanks for the compliment Yoder, takes a lot of head to fit all that brain matter in to.

Nope, no bass will die under my watch. They eat too many stunted gills to take them out of the ecosystem.

Zuma Id dare say a fly will out fish anything artificial on a casting/spinning rod. Even though I may use a big fly for bigger fish, they still fall and move so subtly that fish who would stay away from say a 3" tube or curly tail will just gobble up a wad of feathers in a second.

That was my best guess Eddie, about 22-24" long maybe. My arm isn't reaching for the camera so the pic is fairly accurate.

See what happens when I don't have to hold the boat in a perfect spot for you to cast? You held it in a perfect spot for me to cast! HAHAHAHHAHAHA!
