Yew RD w/ rattler skins
« on: July 05, 2015, 04:30:34 am »
It was a beauty Saturday in Vancouver, we went for a hike and I thought I'd bring the new bow along for some photos.
This is my first attempt at a reflex deflex design. I tried to cook in more reflex twice, but she just wouldn't keep it.
The tips ended up about even with the handle, but its a very smooth bow and lots of fun to shoot.
Not the tightest ringed yew, and mostly sapwood, but pretty light at 10 oz.
I don't think I nailed the bend, but it shoots quiet and feels balanced so I must be close.
She is 56" ntn, and pull 42# at 27".  Sinew wrappings on the nocks, and deer hide handle wrap over built up cork.
Skins are western diamond backs I believe.
Cheers guys thanks for looking

boaaaah, nice and and interesting profiles here!!

Always thought on that a shape - now you've done it.
Btw. handle looks great, I personally like it much more than the strunk style (with I think fits an ELB perfect).

Well, the F/D pic is thing for itsself. Classy!

Great looking bow Goat.  Looks like it would be a sweet shooter.  You have some nice terrain to take bow pictures.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Nice profile, you got a good amount of deflex out of the handle and nice reflexed hooks in the outer limbs to the tips. Smoothly shaped to my eyes and sure does look like a fun one to shoot. You have some real nice country to wander around and loose arrows in Ryan.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

I normally don't like the look of rattler or snake skin backed bows, but this one is beautiful. Great bow and great photography to capture it.

Where are you in those photos? The scenery is beautiful!
