Everyone tells me India ink.  I bought this it is Acrylic supposed to be UV resistant and last forever. Picked it up at a craft store.

I use a pen from Michaels Crafts called a Nano Liner. I love it.

Personal experience. If using rub-on poly, DO NOT buy the calligraphy pens @ Hobby Lobby using ink cartridges.  Ink in those cartridges smear.

Do you think it would work under tru-oil?

Knoll; hit the writing first with a spray or two of Poly , then use Rub On when it's dry. And I was wondering what made Pearlie's eyes so cute.

I use india ink and a nib pen or home made quill pen. Once the India ink is dry I have sprayed or rubbed many different finishes over it. When I used Sharpies I would wipe Tru-Oil over it after it dried then I could spray poly over that.
