I've gotten quite a few bows shooting now, but it seems they are never finished. There is always something more I need to do to them. Well, finally, here is my first "finished" bow. An unbacked 66", belly tempered hackberry pyramid bow pulling 48@28" featuring side nocks, an endless linen string, a viking inspired painting on the back, with old futhark runes spelling JENSEN, sealed in natural flake shellac and a tooled leather grip. It did require some heat corrections to center the string, but I left everything else natural, including the natural bend in the bottom limb. This made it especially tricky to tiller, as it gives the strong appearance of a hinge, however I believe both from looking at the bends and examining the thickness taper, that it is not hinging. It draws smooth and has no hand shock and has taken no set. I've done enough sanding in my life so I built this without using any at all, only a draw knife, rasp, cabinet scraper, and burnisher. Thanks for looking!
