Wow, really beautiful work! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to learn some actual leather working beyond just seeing a piece of scrap over the handles of my bows. Thanks for the inspiration!

Really nice!

My only suggestion would be to wrap your leather around your handle before you tool it, overlap it and cut through both ends so you will have a perfect fit with no gaps in the front. I lay a straight edge on the leather as a guide for my knife.

Good advise.   It's difficult with the veg tan because it's very stiff so it's hard to hold out taut for a mock fit.   On top of that,  tooling spress it out a little and then after adding the suede layer on bottom it doesn't wrap around as far.

I've been using this tip/trick to get a pretty good approximation of the size and shape of the piece of leather needed to create my handle covers.
