This one started 12 years ago when I first really got into making bows, and is the last stave from the very first osage tree I cut. I made bows from the other 3 pieces, and then after making a few kids bows laid this one out to be one and backed it with rawhide. But, then no one else asked me to make a kids bow, so there it has sat for the last 10 years. Since then I have become really fond of long backpacking and canoe trips, and suddenly realized I shouldn't be bringing a slingshot with me...I needed a mini bow! Duh, Daniel. So, I after looking thru my stave stash I realized..."oh yea this thing! It's laid out with a stiff handle but oh well." And at first it was a..."oh I'll only make like like 25 pounds." But, it kept taking bending so well and little bows are hard to tiller....sooooo, first it was 25, then 30...40...screw it 45. It is soooooo fun to shoot, even at 30 yards.
