Very nice, what is the draw weight of the bow, how much draw weight does the small bow add? Steve

Nice job. Those bows are definately unique. Is it noisy? How is the hand shock? I've never seen or shot one.

the background on my bo is that it started as a hickory-backed hickory longbow, glued into a 2-3 inch reflex. things went fairly well, untill i got to the final tiller, when i went too far!(i wanted about a 55 lb. bow) as things developed, it was clear that i was on my way to a nice 35 lb. target bow, so, having been facinated by the entire concept of the penobscott, i decided to add the backbow. the results were what i was hoping for! the bow now has a working draw of 52 lbs. and has been shot a couple of hundred times now. besides enjoying the fruits of my labor, i love the attention it draws(pun intended) whenever i pull it out. i particular love the blank stares i get when i call it my primitive compound!!! the vital statistics on this bow(yes i know folk are probably waiting for this) 68" tip to tip, with the back bow runing 36" tip to tip. the primary bow is hickory backed hickory with a mulberry handle and hickory heartwood tip overlays. the back bow is hickory backed mulberry glued into a 1.5" reflex, and then tillered to 50lbs. at three inches. the limb tip overlays on the backbow are also mulberry.

draw weight is about 52lbs. and has no more hand shock than any other longbow i've shot! noise wise, i haven't noticed that it's particularly loud!

Pictures are pretty grainy. Fascinating bow, though. Bookmarked under Self Bows for February. (We don't really have a category for this kind of bow).

Oldbow, I think it goes laminated since the main bow is hickory backed.  ??? Justin
