Duck Decoy Carvers
« on: May 24, 2015, 03:02:14 pm »
Just a heads up. I was once a serious decoy carver and amassed quite a bit of reference material.
I don't think links are allowed but I donated a set of  VHS tapes to the Trad Gang St Jude auction.

These tapes show the complete technique of master duck carver Pat Godin carving, texturing and painting a hen canvasback, very detailed for the advanced carver or someone who is just starting out and want's to learn from the best.

Mr Godin's ducks sold for 10K each in the 80s and looked like they could fly away, that perfectly carved and painted.

They are on bid forum #1 and can probably be had for a song as no one has shown an interest in them.

These tapes cost $150 in the 80s and can be had in DVD format now for $100.
