Another knife

I tried to do a hamon in this one but the mortar I used popped off in the forge. Oh well. 1095 3 3/4" blade 4 1/2" handle. You know what the scales are. Unsharpened clip

You can build a beautiful knife but you can't build a bow. Same principles apply; just remove everything that doesn't look like a bow!  ;)

Rob, I get it lots of different places. eBay mostly. Leafs springs were a craigslist find.

Pat, only difference is I get to shape the blade without removing any steel. For the most part.

Do you find that using osage for the scales makes it more forgiving to tiller the knife?

FWIW make sure your mortar is good and dry before you take it to the forge.
less likely to fall off that way.
