Bill's buckthorn bow
« on: May 09, 2015, 11:02:58 am »
Here's a buckthorn bow I made in feb. for my good friend Bill (Danzn Bar)
A wonky, knotty piece of buckthorn with earth pigment and true oil finish. Around 63" ntn and about 50# @ 27" draw. Pictures aren't the best, taken on a cloudy feb. day and the full draw shot was taken right before I put the finish on. Bill has shared many a campfire with Sharon and I at the archery gatherings and
after leaving the Classic last year I decided I wanted to build him something unusual from buckthorn for being such a good camp neighbor and friend. Hope it survives a little shooting for him. :) ;)
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

That is a eye catcher. Looks like you tillered that wonky thing perfectly.

He is more than happy,   ;D ;D ;D  I was stunned, :o and very thankful to Greg for gifting me this beautiful bow.
I've been shooting and have found some arrows that shoot great out of it.  I'll bring it to Marshall and shoot a round or two.
I love it!!!!!

Guy,  I don't mind being spoiled.... ;D ;)

Thanks again, pal

We had some big time fun and laughs up on the hill for sure Clint, park your gypsy wagon up there next year, you'd fit right in.
Glad you like it Bill, I sure enjoyed making that one for ya and for such a wonky stave it didn't give me
much trouble during the build.
