Quick question about epoxy glue and heat

Couldnt find anything about this with search, so i have to tap into the infinitive wisdom of you guys☺i have a bit whip tillered wych elm bow that is nearly finished tillering. But its turning out a bit under weight, i already have put overlays (wood) on with some cheap 2 component epoxy glue. Its called steel epoxy.

Will heat tempering the belly screw up the overlays?

And how much +poundage can i expect?

Depends how close you bring your heat source to them and how long you heat for. Your best bet is to come up with a way of using a heat sink on the nock area.

I doubt tempering will reverse the whip tiller.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Jawge, good point there! i have no idea why i didnt think of checking the label! Anywas bear with m,  i got tillering finishe,  drew it to 28 without a bang. Got 55#,  thats pretty good on a 56 inch ntn bow right? Its bending like crazy to get to 28 though, strange seeing a short dry stick bend that much without breaking. Think im going to do a really light tempering, epoxy label said dont do it but i guess i can just glue the overlays back on if they get messed up. Thinking maybe put tape on overlays or alu-foil

That said, really appreciate you all for amswering, ive had alot of help from this forum not just asking questions but reading your replies to other posts aswell. Hope i can contribute myself later on when i got more seasoned

I would wrap the tips with tin foil to insulate them and keep away from the tip with the heat gun. The last few inches don't do much anyway.

If ur trying not to heat the tips I'd wrap a damp cloth on them when I was heating. Just my .02

Thanks guys, i wrapped in a wet towel, worked out fine. Leaving it for 3 days before bending again, or is that not enough?
