A lot of cracks
« on: April 19, 2015, 11:38:10 pm »
A few of you might remember this bow from my "death pics" post. If you don't this was a bow I had just finished when I mistrung it and the string poped out causing this damage. I was sure the bow was done for and proceeded to wrap the portion of the crack visable under the handle and waited for it to finally go. Well it has sorta survived it lost a lot of weight after the crack. Today I finally got around to tearing off the handle and seeing if a repair was possible, rather shocked that it hasn't gone yet. The hairline cracks are traced in black

Wow!  What was the draw weight on that bow?  If it was shooting pretty good before you unwrapped it  I would fill all those cracks with super glue and and make a long, tight cord wrap handle and shoot the hell out of it, just to see how long it could last.   ;D  It would be a pretty good experiment to see how durable that kind of repair could be.  Just a thought.
