We did a lot of measure, figuring, more measuring, and a little building.  We got the bottom all done except for the door.  We decided to make it only 10' long because of how the boards were on the front of the trailer.  We were afraid water would run back in under the wall if we made it the full length. 





We put some Z channel behind the sheeting so the water wouldn't run back under it.

It might be a couple of days before I can work on it again.  Next up is making the doors and the top half.  We were able to get by without using some of the supplies that I bought.  I'm returning them and getting some more stuff tomorrow after work.  I should have $35 of stuff to return.

I would love to get a double axle trailer and make a rustic tear drop camper with osage siding.  That's my dream camper.  I'll be happy with my redneck ramada when I finish it next week.

Yeah, you might need a double axle trailer to handle the weight of osage, but then again particle board is pretty darn heavy, also.  I'd like to build a small tear drop camper of cedar.  You know we have a friend who is retired and has a saw mill.  I'd bet with the right trade of a bow, arrows, quiver and some rocks for knapping, you could have osage siding cut and delivered to the Moon Tree Gathering next year.

Now that sounds like a plan Dave.  I could supply the logs.  There are plenty of twisted trees on my place that would work great for that.

Talk to Brian at the Classic.  While I (we) can't get him to build a bow, he loves working with wood.  I know you're not a "rock hound", but I also know you are a trader. Brian would love some rocks to pound on.  It doesn't take a lot of wood to make a lot of siding.  He built a 16 foot cedar strip canoe from like 6: 1x8x12 boards.  And actually, driving to Brian's wouldn't take you much longer than driving to my place.  Just catch I-65 out of Louisville to the Cave City exit.  It may actually be shorter. I think Brian can get to Louisville in 1 1/2 hours

I'll give you a Tip; You are going to need some good ventilation building it out of Particle Board. The formaldehyde will run you out of it if it stays closed up. My Tear drop is made from it and I have to air it out for a week before I use it.

Thanks for the tip Mullet.  I'm putting a couple of windows in it.  I'll let it air out until I load it up to head to Pappy's.  With all the smoke and wood dust I'll be breathing around the bow shop I probably won't notice the particle board smell.

Can you seal the OSB board with paint to eliminate the formaldehyde fumes?

I was planning on painting the outside.  I guess I could paint the inside to.  I have some polyurethane.  I might use that inside instead.
