A little elbow grease payed off.

Some of you might remember a bandsaw and a belt/disc sander I bought last summer. Well I've been using them as is. And I finally special ordered me some belts to fit my sander. They arrived today and they fit and work great. While putting the belt on I noticed some grease on my hands. So I went and got my bottle of degreaser and started scrubbing down the whole machine. I was surprised how dirty and grimey it was. I also took some Murphys oil soap and cleaned up the wood top then whipped it down with some pledge wood oil that my wife uses. I am really proud of the way it cleaned up. Here is a before and after shot. Patrick

Thanks fellas! I've put it to use some with just the disc on the side. But now with the belt working and it cleaned up all shinny. I can't wait to get sanding dust all over it!

Next one will be my 14in delta Rockwell bandsaw. It's a good bit dirtier than the sander. Patrick

Cleaned up real nice.  Whenever i have a choice, I will always go with old, well made tools like this rather than something brand new.  Nice job leb

With a simple jig you can taper your arrows now. 11deg for the nock end and 5deg for the point end. You can also make tapered arrows, either rear tapers, barrel tapers or full tapers.

I new about  the jig for tapering the arrow tips. But I would like to learn more about tapering the shafts, Pat.

I've used a jig just for tapering the rear 9" to 10". I think it was Eric Krewson that was tapering the rear and full length using a table top belt sander.
