Recent Fun and Points/Hawk
« on: April 08, 2015, 11:09:49 am »
So WA (Chippingtuf) recently cut some stone for me, that of which I was very thankful.  When I went to pick it up one afternoon he surprised me with a small backyard knapp-in.   There were four of us all together. the next couple of days I heated some of the stone and made a point from one of the slabs.  Thats what the large white one is.  I also played around with some other spalls that were laying around the garage.  I made the knife from tx stone.  The hawk is my first and its from Rtbeer. and peach wood.  The small jasper material came from Brazos river gravel.   Thanks for looking

Starting at left is H (non backed) he recently started knapping.  WA McCormick ( chippingtuff)  and on the right ? We'll I can't think of his name right now. He knows WA real well. He is a great knapper but frequents Paleoplanet.

 Thanks for complements

Good stuff there! A lot of that brazos stuff is that color. Have picked it up all along the section from PK dam to dark valley canoeing.
When you come upon a track or trail you do not know, follow it to the point of knowing.

Amazing points :) i love the turkey feathers on the tomahawk!

I read this too fast and turned it around for 'hawk feathers on a tom turkey'.  We happen to have a member of this forum that had a hawk that lost her mind and attacked a turkey...AND KILLED IT! Pert'near ruined a good hawk, as she was only interested in big game like turkeys and would ignore rabbits!

That being said, guys, that is some mighty fine knapping work!

Wolf Watcher offered me a lift and I had to decline.  My boss is taking a cruise with his family this year and I will be working a lot of hours that week.  But I will be there in spirit.
