straight osage

I cut a couple nice straight trees this weekend, unfortunately limbs only allowed 60-66 inch staves...  Some of the straightest I've had the pleasure of splitting.. great growth rings and ratios too...

60" to 66" is about perfect for osage bows IMO. Nice haul.  8)

Oh how I wish osage grew up here in Alberta... I harvested a couple of of saskatoons last week, am beginning to wonder if a straight saskatoon exists on this earth...

Nice harvest!
If this bow breaks, I'll build another. If it doesn't............. I'll still build another.

A better haul than I ever had. Nice. I see several piggy back staves in there also.

Nice haul Joe.  Looks nice some great staves.  I bet some of those pieces could be split down into two or three staves.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Wonderful wood pile. Others are welcome to the snakey stuff. What you have there is first class in my book.
