Oak board bow input request?
« on: March 30, 2015, 05:22:21 pm »
Hi all I went to work on the board bow I posted about recently. It's 64" tip to tip and is pulling 38# @ 26".  I'm really happy with it but think it might need a bit more work on the lower limb. I'd like to get the tiller ok before I start finishing it. Some honest critique would be gratefully received. Thanks  :)

Brace looks pretty good.hard to see the tiller because of the angle.maybe try a new FD shot with good back ground like you house at more of a right angle.
Some like motorboats,I like kayaks, some like guns,I like bows, but not the wheelie type.

Thanks Bushboy! Here's another picture which is not much better but more at a right angle.  :)

Lower fade could be stiff.

Both limbs look to need the near  handle wood moving. Is the lower limb shorter?

Did you mean to make the bottom limb that short.

The limbs are the same length (you all had me worried there!) it's weird how they look so different in the photos!  ???
Anyway thanks for the input I'll get busy on the fades.
