Back from my holidays on LaGomera(Canary Islands).
I asked the Gomeros for the hardest and most springy wood growing on their island and they advised me the tree heath. I know heath as scrubs but in the Gomerian rainforest it is growing up to 10- 20m, I was done looking at them.
It is very well known as a wood for making walking sticks and pipe bowls.
Could get some nice billets of an area where a forest fire has wasted some hundred acres of rainforest 2 years ago. The billets are charred at the outside, but their inside looks perfect.
Anyone has experience with tree heath as a bow wood?
