Where to get coal?

There is a young guy I know who has built himself a small blacksmith forge and is wanting to tinker around with blacksmithing. We are in N Alabama and far from any coal producing areas. He is looking for a place to get coal at a reasonable price. Any suggestions? I've asked around and nobody here seems to know where to get any.

Forgive me if I misused any jargon. I don't speak blacksmith.

Ridge Runner I honestly don't know. He is the son of my old boss from when I worked on a pumpkin farm in college. I just saw he where he posted on Facebook that he was looking for some. He didn't say how much. He had found some online but thought the prices per pound was high. I just hoped you guys might be able to point a good honest teenager in the right direction.

I get mine from a wood stove shop
I get pea size anthracite coal for $15 a hundred pounds.
I don't know how close you are to Huntsville but just did a search and it lists 4 places that sell wood and coal stoves and supplies.

There "was" a large pile left in a barn at my grandmothers house.
Grandmother passed a few years back. 

My aunt now owns the property.
She was going to rent the house out.

Cant say for sure if the coal is still in the barn or not.
My guess would be that it is still there.
Several tons.

This is kind of the info I was looking for. I don't really want to have to set him up with one of yall. I was hoping to find somewhere that he could help himself. I haven't worked for his dad in 8-9 years.

He can use charcoal (lump, not briquettes). It can be purchased or made. Not hard to make.
