Dry heat after Tru Oil ?

So the weather is getting better and threw the string on my last build,
so looking forward to shooting it ...
well something moved, after a bunch of coats with tru oil
and now the string at brace is like 2, maybe 3" to the left
at brace :(

So my question, has anyone used a heat gun after tru oil
or will i need to sand off finish ?

I figure a tiny bend at the handle would fix me up nice, but
didn't know if I had to sand down the finish 1st...

I haven't done it with Tru Oil, but I've done heat corrections after putting Watco Satin Wax finish on a bow.  It worked fine, but I dialed the heat down one setting.  Had to be careful not to scorch the finish.

You should scrape the Tru-Oil off the area to be heated before you heat it. Tru-Oil is easy to repair by hitting that area with 0000 steel wool then add more Tru-Oil.

guess i will take a better look at it and see where the movement happened
before I decide how to fix.. stay tuned,  there's a 99% chance that I

Your string alignment moving 2"-3" after you finished the bow doesn't sound good at all.  Messing up the tru oil finish might be the least of your worries.

The stave couldn't have been dry. Next time make super sure it's dry.

Your 100% right, I kinda new it needed to dry a tad more...
problem was i couldn't stop fiddling with it...
Kept saying well, I come this far might as well go a hair more
and before I knew it, well.. im sure you know  ;D
