Dave Mims self hickory bow.
« on: March 18, 2015, 04:28:26 pm »
I haven't posted for awhile but wanted to share a photo I took of Dave's bow.  He gifted this to me a year before he passed away and it has become a family member.   A great shooter at 48#, 68" long.

On still he goes with back berond of cedar shafts with feather frond;
for him the great success you see, is not to get, but just to be,
amidst the oak and the hickory tree.

Fine looking bow George. That grip looks like it would be comfortable. Just the right weight and length for some fun shooting, eh?

That's a fine looking bow for sure.  Yeah, I really like that grip too.  I'd like to learn how to do those.

David was a fine bow maker, the legacy he left was more about the people whose lives he touched with his generosity, fortunately, I can include myself in this long list of such folk.

George that's a beautiful bow. I have spent almost no time in your neck of the woods, so my education is slightly expanded to see that fox grape grows there.

I was also a little surprised t see a traditional grammarian using the abominable "gifted"  for gave....:(
