Don't burn them!
« on: March 10, 2015, 09:29:44 am »
Really, everytime I hear the advice to burn a defunct bow or reports thereof, it's braking my heart.

I just love to cut them up (yummy nice straight-grained limbs) and make all sorts of stuff from it. It's always prime wood.

Boxes, spoons, pottery tools, many handles, figurines, atlatls, splitting wedges, arrow foreshafts, kids bows, a simple xylophone, garden stakes, I made them all from discarded bows.
Don't shoot!

My last fire looked like a giant flaming porcupine. Bows and blanks sticking out all over!
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.
