scott,
I went to leather store and picked a peace of hard leather out of the scrap bin. Offered to pay, but they said no. I cut some "patterns" out of paper to check size and shape against my bow. Then I traced the pattern on the leather and cut out with an exacto knife. Then I tapered the rest with a sander-ouch-be careful or use a pliers to hold the rest.
I then glue it on the riser and put the handle material over it when it dries. I actually often shoot it with the rest and no handle wrap for awhile. I usually make the rest highest in the middle where arrow passes over and lower fore and aft.
Some shaping can be done easily with a file while rest is on the bow.
arrow plate is just a thin piece of leather cut to disired shape.
Nice think is that if you dont like it you can make another and try it.
Hope this helps, Kirk
