Bamboo Arrows witha a little paint.
« on: February 08, 2015, 10:29:38 pm »
I recently spent time with Tower during hunting season.  When practice shooting I witnessed an bamboo arrow bounce off about 5 rocks before coming to a rest.  I have shot carbon, aluminum, PO, Pine, and Douglas fir, but bamboo is the strongest thing that anybody could ever shoot. IMO.  He was gracious enough to gift me with some.  Well here are the first 6.

If you like the toughness of your boo shafts, try hill cane. Even better.

... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

Those look great!  The cresting looks awesome...a lot better than more "normal" cresting, especially on boo.

Good place to get bamboo arrows is franks cane and rush supply   Look under section 6 bamboo and ratton poles. They have them spine tested in 5lb increments from 30 to 85 lbs. you do have to cut your own nocks   52.50 for 25 shafts
