european holly?

Anyone got any experience with European holly? I just cut a coupe of small staves and sealed the ends, so I guess I season it by putting it away for a few months before I split it? Does a holly bow need to be rectangle or D profile? I believe it doesn't need backing and it responds really well to heat treating?
