A friend at work wanted a knife for her bf that is in the army and is currently deployed. This is what I made.












And this one is for another co worker

Thanks guys.

I get the steel to critical temperature/non magnetic and then quench it. Then I clean it up and temper it to a dark blue

are you doing any grain reduction and normalization cycles?
I edge quench my spike knives and hawks in brine and then transfer to used motor oil to get that black finish and then temper to a dull straw (yellow)

yes sir!
and  thermal cycling to reduce grain size.
that make a much stronger and tighter grained blade.

+1 for the KH school of metalurgy. I love these knives and hawks. I need to set up a little forge in my back yard. I'm sure if I don't set too much on fire the wife & neighbors won't mind.
