Rich I knew all along that your phenomenal bows are the result of patient craftsmanship. That's what makes em so inspiring!
Also as a Brit myself I'm proud to hear that you've got an English Yew bow. (Del's a great ambassador!)  :D

I saw the title of this thread (51" of bad attitude), and I saw you started this thread, half eye. I was thinking that man sure is taller than 51". :)

That's a might fine bow. You turn out some beauties.

Thanks again for the wonderful comments fellas.

Jodocus, the limbs (from grip fade to lever fade) are 2.0" wide to 1-9/16"wide and .498" thick to .380" thick and the levers are 1/2" thick.

Don, Slimbob, thanks you fellas

GB, both the red (slippery) elm and the grey (american) elm make very nice bows....either stave or board

sieddy, Mr. Cat makes a very fine bow, I'm trying hard to arrange for it to kill an elk, hopefully this year

George, I hear what you and Jon are saying. I'm not to good at all the science stuff so I try to let the bows speak for themselves and I do believe that boards can make good bows. wood is wood to me. Thank you for your comment.

I think it might be showing our age.  Anyway, I have no doubt that we have seen our share of mean, straight razor totin' women.  Lord, help us!    That grey elm is some fine bow wood.  That one ought to make a deer killer for sure.

Rich, then, that bow is speaking volumes.
You always do well.
No matter the design. No matter the bow wood. No matter the science.
It is the bowyer that makes all of the above work.

Like I said thank you for the earlier comment, your outlook and experience is always welcome, sir.

Hrothgar, you are welcome. I'm not advocating excessively short bows, just trying to show that boards will take a lot of gaff, and if used with standard design perameters should make bows as nice as any.

Nice little "shorty", Rich, I've been on that short bow kick myself. But down here in the South, we call it "Poke Salad".

See Rich, your lowering the bar so to speak. You just keep  showing that you can make em shorter and a Molly with that little working limb  with that little set is a hit. Thanks for sharing it. Now don't go and mess up the finish ;).  Danny
