John is a treasure. You did well to spend time with him. And those are some nice bows.

Thanks guys. I agree, John is a gem. Can't forget about Pat too!
A couple things he opened my eyes too, tillering by feel. My bows hit the tree probably over 50 times, and I take and study just as many photos.
We put my bow on a stick twice, he could just pick my bow up, look at it, feel it, and tell me where to take some scrapes, and he was always right.
Final tiller was him watching me shoot it, and a few more scrapes.
And my jaw hit the floor when he bent my recurves after a 5 minute steam

Glad your time with John wasn't a complete waste of time  ;D ;)
That bow is a serious stunner! Both of them are georgeous, and I especially like the photo of the two of them together on the beach rock.
I love how those pin nocks came put.
5 minute steam! Must be the Tillamook water  ;)

How thick were the tips when they went in the steam?

That is what I hope to be able to do one day - I want to be a bow-making Yoda.

And of course, your bows are great and the scenery is beautiful!
