That's why I quit buying Buck knives since the late seventies. Is that the General? I've broke two of them and the smaller version, twice by sitting on them. The steel is too hard and when they get dull a bear to sharpen.

I was literally just chopping with it and it broke. I dont even want a replacement.  Gave it to a guy who is gonna call buck for a replacement.  Im done with them. The knife design sucks anyway.

I have several buck knives and have no complaints.  I have had a buck vanguard since I was a teenager.  My Dad bought one for me and one for himself.  We both really like them.  There are a bunch of fake buck knives from china on the big auction site.  They look just like the real ones.  Even the boxes look the same.   I'm sure the quality isn't the same though.

You can go to Buck website and print a form for returning it. I broke a Buck folder a few years ago just like that. Mailed it back to them and they replaced it for free. They can even keep the old handles if you have sentimental feeling about them. I also got a coupon for a new purchase on another knife. I was extremely happy with Buck Knives and their customer service. Good Luck

You need to treat a knife like a knife ...not some other tool..

I was just chopping a bow with it. Dont think I was using it to harsh. Anyway a guy at the gun show I was working had some cookies. I traded it for one.

In my opinion, the handle isnt long enough, its too slippery, blade doesnt weigh enough, its got a hollow grind when it needs a flat grind and its too brittle.

I should say, it doesnt work for anything I use a knife for. Others may love it. Sorry, didnt mean to be a hard headed so and so.
