well looks like folks have gotten a good jump on their bows. Still have to pick out my stave. Hickory pyramid or an Osage American longbow?

Some nice looking billets there, and a nice looking shop! jealous of all that space, an apartment is no place to make bows (or anything else for that matter).

Nice looking stave Patrick. I have some advice and you may already be aware. In the pic where you are holding the stave be conscious of having to move the side with the sharp angle over closer to the middle of the stave. You can run out of belly thickness if you don't. I see a killer bow in there.

Mammoth tusk for tip overlays. Most of this is delaminating inside and no good for anything but the outside is hard and I will laminate it to buffalo horn so not much is needed.

You would think that being retired you would have lots of time for hobbies, fellows, DON'T become the family handyman, I've spent most of this week working on other peoples problems and most were just common sense and stop and think for a moment.

Thanks fellows. That hickory came out of a 110 year old tree that fell in the neighborhood a year ago......nice windfall :-)

About 10 hours spent on bows today. A bit on the takedown, trying to figure out my sleeve. Just over 7 hours on the juniper. Processed 3 ounces of back sinew, and applied 1 ounce. This is plan B
