It's like -15 here real feel laterly. Ever try making a bow outta an icicle?  >:D I'm itching to get after it some more. I've got a recurve I need to sinew. And I have to finish the sheath for my trade knife. I tried gluing on underlays to this Osage and it pops off each time. I am using tight bond 3. And no I am not blaming it  ;) I just don't think I carried it far enough around the bend and the piece was still s little too think. I'm almost thinking of using denim. I think it'd look cool and it's gonna be easy enough to make a miccarta underlay as it is wood. I really don't wanna give up this bow if it turns out. It wasn't ever meant for the trade. But as I have gorilla arms. We'll see

I've got my wood and design selected,r/d nothing too pronounced,hickory/walnut/ipe limbs with maybe leadwood and ebony for the handle . Just got to get the moisture content down a bit so i'll cut the lams and bring them inside for a few days then into the hotbox for a couple more days.
I might try and do something funky with the handle  :)

I know, its been amazingly mild here.  Maybe too warm.  Trees are starting to blossom.  I just thought I'd rub it in a little.  Which usually means I'll pay later.

Well I just got home from work, put about 14 hours in the seat of a snow plow. We got about 6 inches yesterday. But it got to 35 today so the streets are clear now. Patrick

Well I'm feeling better and was able to get in the garage yesterday after running my space heater for about 4 hours.
I  got plan A roughed out finally. It was a bit of a challenge. This Osage it of the toughest variety I have worked. It's dark orange and has some almost burnt orange in it as well. Very tough stuff, almost couldn't use my draw knife at all. It has lots of character and so far 3 holes! Patrick

Patrick that looks like it will be one fine bow with tons of character.  I can't decide which person sends their stuff to me.  I am busy getting staves roughed out and drying up.  One of them will be the right one. . .
