I have these sister Billets getting ready to start chasing a ring while listening to UK basketball. My ? Is when I go to finger joint them together do I put the to upright ends together or opposite ends together. This is my first attempt with billets so I will have a lot more ?'s as I go on. Thanks all info will be helpful

Hey Gut ..Ky game doesn't start until 7.... U of L doing pretty good right now
But I would splice the same/like ends together so you would have limbs to match..............

Yes, to put it another way, splice both up ends or both down ends. I favor the down ends.

Lay the two billets side by side like they were split out of the log. Rotate one around 180° and then splice the two ends together that was your pivot point. Since the limbs were in the tree side by side, they will have very similar properties. Good luck.

Yes, I meant the ground ends when I said "down" ends. The upper ends are usually more free of kinks and twists, and it's easier to deal with any irregularities in the splice than in the limb tip.

Thanks for the info now I'm trying to figure which ends where the ground ends and what type of splice is the best to use
