Critters In The Shop

Time to thaw out my catch for the year.  These were treed, not trapped.  Didn't hit it near as hard as I have the last several years.  Coon hunting is bad hours for the working man, and this may be my last year, but it's still a lot of fun!

Yes, she's pretty nice.  I've been fortunate the last 7-8 yrs to have really nice hounds.  Sure makes it more enjoyable.

nlester, nice batch of coons. Don't know if you been follwing the fur market :( It is not good :o hope ya make enough to cover some dog food. My son has 3 redbones so I 'm familar with the feed expences. What part of the country were your coon taken from, Southern coon are better off sold on the carcass market, In Penna. we are not allowed to sell carcass for food, a real waste of resources but It is what it is. Better get off the computer and start a fleshing :o ;D ;D. Bob

Coon hunting behind good hounds may be some of the most fun Ive ever had outdoors. Sharp sticks in your eyes, thorns ripping your skin open...aaahhhh the good ol' days! So many late night good times for sure. Nice batch of fur you got there.

Southern IN is where these furs came from.  Got them sold tonight.  Sadly, I averaged a little over $3.  The last two years prices had been pretty fair.  Somewhere around $6-8.  Oh well, I definitely don't do it for the money.

nlester, at least ya got something for them, I 'vew been hearing of some buyers not buying coons, All fur is pretty much in the tank, but like ya say not doing it for the money. ;D Bob
