The older pictures are pretty much gone now. The best way to get them back would be to contact the original author of the thread and see if he can put the pictures back... hopefully with a link to a host site so the pictures don't get "cleaned out" after a certain number of years.
I see that several authors have "fixed" their pictures in some of their old threads.
I always use a photobucket account for my pics so I don't have to worry about it.
