I am just putting feelers out on Juniper. I have it available locally, and lots of it. I know of a few people who want it, just want to know how much to harvest. I am interested in just about anything for trade. Stone, Skins, Arrow Shafts, Other woods. Let me know if you are interested, that way I know how much Tyke and I need to gather.

Hey Jojo, I would love a piece of juniper. Never messed with it. Would you be interested in a custom turkey or deer grunt call? I would like a semi short piece, kinda wide, maybe to make a paddle bow. Always wanted to make one of those, and put a sweet paint job on it. Let me know.

I'd like to build a short sinew backed juniper bow  so short and wide like Dave suggested would be good. 'll have hill cane soon and other shafting, primitive and doweled.

I'm interested if there is enough to go around. I have some recently cut osage staves  and I'd trade one for a nice juniper stave if your up for it.

Looks like a trip out west for me. Maybe I can get some knapping materials while I'm out!

I would love a stave, all i have is obsidian and raw apple wood arrow shafts to trade at the moment. A 64" stave would be awesome for me draw length, that is of course if you want what i have on hand.

hey buddy I would definitely love a nice juniper StAve I have some rock for trade quite a bit of day site... well a shoe box or two full of like four to six inch long by two yo three inch wide peaces ;) oh and i have like fifteen turkey feathers or so and i have an ash stave too nice and seasoned with one knot about one third the way down the back of stave :( but its six ft long and i think it will still make a good bow . Im going to go for it if u dont want it ;) let me know.  239-247-9551 jess

Got in touch with the local BLM office. The area that I will be cutting Juniper is closed until March or April due to it being winter range for deer. I'll keep this updated.

Something for a bendy recurve say 64" that will leav me options.  Could go less and could splice.  Never worked with it. 

Have obsidian and some cowboy rock?  Getting away from knapping.  Not my thing.

The sinew prep has been the toughest part. I have literally spent maybe 45 minutes on the bow, not counting sinew. I found a few things I am not super excited about with juniper. My scrapers dont work, because the wood is so soft. So instead you have to sand it. Not a huge issue, but it does take a little more time. With the weather cooperating, the winter range should be open sooner than later to go get wood.
