So, after an unsuccessful attempt at a high performance ( 200 fps draming here ) bow I have pulled this next stave from my dwindling stash. My last bow only stored 86.8% of its draw weight in energy. Im looking for upper 90s. Over 96% at least.
This stave is 2" wide and the bow will be 62" long. Going for more reflex than my last bow and a wider working section. Still plan on my bending to be short and all in the middle. Reason being, short allows for less deformation ( ongoing conversation with Badger ) and in the middle because in my thinking, less wood is required because less leverage is applied. Less wood, less weight, less moving mass, lower mass recurves at the tips. Add to that a deflex handle and I can really spike my string tension.
Anybody with opinions ( especially different than mine ) please speak up!
lol, speak now, 'fore I forever hold my bow in pieces. ...
