boiling horn
(1/1)
wizardgoat:
do the horns have to be fully submerged?
i have rasped them and gotten them to a uniform thickness, and roughed in a lap splice
i have made a caul with 1" of backset, although i may make it 1.5"
my plan is to boil them for 10 minutes and clamp them down.
just wondering if i will need a bigger pot, or if it'll be ok if they're half boiled and half steam bathed
loefflerchuck:
If your horns are already worked down to near final size just cover your pan with foil and the steam should take care of the parts out of the water.
wizardgoat:
Cool thanks chuck
mikekeswick:
You should be aiming to make the horns straight. Remember that they will spring back.
