Knappin at College Station/Bryan Area?
« on: January 06, 2015, 02:28:05 pm »
Are any of you interested in a knappin in the area of College Station/Bryan, TX? I live at Wixon Valley just outside Bryan, and we could have it here or wherever the group wishes. I am almost certain we could get at least 4-5, maybe several more, together.

Me also.  8)   P.S.  We should start a new thread in the events tab.   When we pick a date.  I'm pretty sure I have a great location.

Nathaniel, you head it up, and barring unforeseen obligations, I'll be there. I know two more people who will probably be there. I also know some people who have expressed an interest in observing.

We are working on planning. The thing we are dealing with now is that if we get a public place it will cost some for 1 day and more for 3 days. We could have it at my house free of charge. I have 3 acres in a country subdivision, and tents would be OK, but I don't have any hookups. There is a convenience store just over a mile away. I also don't know how far anybody might be driving and whether one day would be adequate. The convenience store has an unused canopy that I might be able to get permission on if anybody wants more public exposure.

I go to A&M and have been a long time watcher of these forums! I would love to get in on the action, I've made a couple bows but never flintknapped before, any chance there's room for a newbie?

You are more that welcome.  Maybe I can knock a little rust off of my tools.

It's about a 2ish hour drive for me to get up there, but if I'm able to plan work around the date I'll make an appearance!
