If that's moose hoof from DuBois, then you are using hoof which came from huge Alaskan bulls which were taken with bows. I sent him a bunch when we were doing wood/sinew trades. Polishes like a dream, smells nasty! The bow looks great.

Nice bow!  The cross stitch leather lacing on the grip really makes the bow stand out!

Nice looking bow. 

I picked up a large chunk of BL many years ago from a place in Southern Ontario,  made several bows out of that piece.  It had very thick rings.  That wood took to heat-treating quite well and it would keep most of any reflex I added to the bow.
