Giving Back ! ArmorAll and Tru-Oil

In the spirit of giving back, hopefully helping someone I found the
original armorall Tru-Oil thread

Turns out a guy used to shine his stocks up using armor all that were previously
finished with Tru-Oil and one stock needed a touch up. To his amazement the
Tru oil set up right away.

Guy who started the thread has used the method a ton of times with no clouding iassues,
the trick is to lay down a coat of the armor all 1st, then Tru-Oil...

For those who don't want to read,
Use the armorall in between every coat of Tru-Oil
the finish sets up regardless of humidity or temp.

I used Tru-Oil years ago, I remember some coats took days before they were tack free..
Today, in the last hour I have 3 coats on my bow ! I'm happy to say it's working great

I've used Truoil alot and never really had a problem with it setting up. I do mine inside and its not real humid so maybe thats why. I give it several hours between coats. This might cut down on my dry time. Nice tip. I will try it next time.   Danny

I've been using tung oil and taking a whole day to put my five coats on, this is going to be great  :laugh:

I only keep it about 65 in the house to conserve oil until the evening when i get the fire going, it can take 24 hours for a coat to cure at that temp, so this is gonna be handy.

Didn't have good results on 2 different bows with it. Very cloudy fugly finish.  Did it differently than you are describing so maybe it will work well if done properly. Keep us posted.

I didn't know what 'armouall' was, so I looked it up. They seem to do a few products. Does anyone know which particular armouall product he uses?

That was my question...will it work on other drying oils. Might try that myself.

Staying safe, I am using original ;)
Little hint, after spraying with armor all and wiping
excess off, go right to oiling up...

Lil hint 2...
Don't over due the tru-oil... directly after my post I
was overly ambitious and had to wait an hour !!!
2 coats since have dried in 15 min  :P
