This has been the best holiday season I can remember. I wanted to experience a less commercialized Christmas this year. I told my wife I only wanted something that she made. I was going to also make her something, but a friend came over kinda last minute and asked if Tyke and I could make some bows for his boys. We got them done on Christmas Eve, not a moment too soon! I also had to get a bow finished for a friends nephew. It was awesome to work on a bow for a kid that loves archery. He is a 16 year old developmentally delayed kid. He is super sweet and kind. I made a Z Handle bow, arrows and a quiver for her to give him (Photos soon). I got about the least amount of items for Christmas that I ever have, and it made the day so much more special that it was about family, and not simply stuff. I got called at 3:30 am Christmas morning to come in and plow our first snow of the year. Luckily for most of the guys it was a very localized snow, and only about 1/3 of the city needed to be plowed (100 or so lane miles), so only the guys that are single, or have grown children came in. We got done at around 10 am. I got home to my wife, and opened my favorite thing, New socks and underwear (I love new socks, I have about 75 pairs of socks). The best part is that she has started to make me something herself. We found out the week after Thanksgiving that she is pregnant with our first child. What could be better than that?
Happy Holidays everyone. I know mine has been the best I can remember.
