another elm bow
« on: December 06, 2014, 03:55:07 pm »
Made this one last summer as a possible trade bow.the stave had some character with reflexes and deflexes. I managed to heat most of the out ,but the deflex over the handle came back.oh well shoots fine, gonna give it to a buddy.simple side nocks 63"ntn, around 50@ 27" horse hide handle wrap and a rosewood arrow rest.the arrow pass is 1/2" above center because that's what felt right.i guess that makes the lower limb shorter

Looks like a killer to me. And I dig the "that's what felt right" My bows are built around that concept.

Nice bow!  The tiller looks outstanding!  I like the contrast with the colors you chose for the handle and color of the bow too.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?
